After a lazy morning, a really lazy morning for me, we decided it was time to take the girls out in the snow to go sledding. They had been begging to go for the last couple of weeks, but with the baby almost due we had to wait for a time when Daddy could come. I actually wasn’t even going to go because I’ve been so sick, but I really wanted to get a few pictures of their first time sledding.
I bundled the girls up as best as I could so they could stay warm. They wore pajamas, socks, mittens, jackets, snow pants, fluffy large coats, and hats. The most important article of clothing I put on was my new belly band. Thanks mom! I don’t think I could survive without that thing. Daddy wore his snow gear from high school and his brand new snow boots that I ordered for him. He looked so cute. Goodness, I sure love that man.
Since we are very new to the area, daddy had to look online for a good sledding spot, and boy did he find a good one! The hill was perfect even though there wasn’t very much snow. They each took turns going on the sled, flying down the hill, with Daddy holding onto them tightly. They were all giggles and smiles and sometimes couldn’t stop bouncing up and down while waiting for their turn. L also kept trying to eat the filthy snow while she waited. Yuck.
Towards the end of our adventure, E insisted on going down the hill herself which nearly gave me a heart attack, but she LOVED it!
I stood and watched my little family play in the snow, snapping a couple of pictures here and there. I’m so grateful for all of the love I am surrounded by and can’t believe I get another little babe to take care of and love. I’m so excited to meet him. He should be here any day which is good because my body is done. I’m feeling more useless than I ever have in my entire life. I am constantly sick, dizzy, achy, tired, and the worst part is the weight and stretching going on in my tummy area. Pinch skin under you upper arm and then pull down…that’s about how I feel all around my stomach almost all of the time. The ligaments in my stomach often prevent me from even being able to stand up straight. I know this is all worth it and I will happily do it again…I’m just ready to meet my little guy.
Hope you are enjoying the icy cold weather. We’ve actually been pretty lucky and haven’t had to endure super freezing temperatures for more than a couple of days. Today, we’re in the 30’s. :)
