We woke up early one morning, ate a quick breakfast, threw some clothes on, and jumped into the car. Five minutes later, moving down a windy path, we were surrounded by enormous green trees. Ella kept saying, “We’re in the forest! We’re in the forest!” It certainly felt like we were, though it felt more like a rain forest. It was eerily beautiful. I could imagine hundreds of tragic tales taking place here. I was lost in the beauty, couldn’t believe I was lucky enough to spend time here with my girls. What a wonderful morning walk!
But then I kept seeing signs…signs that said “DO NOT FEED THE ALLIGATORS! IT IS ILLEGAL TO HARASS ALLIGATORS!” The lady at the gate didn’t mention alligators. Oy.
